Admission will be made on the basis of common Entrance Test to be conducted by the Deptt. of Business Economics, South Delhi Campus, University of Delhi. The merit list will be prepared giving 50% weightage to Entrance Test and 50% weightage to marks in S.S.C. (XIIth) Examination.
Admission
to
the
course:
The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi with pass in 4 subjects (English, Mathematics and two Elective Subjects) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with 55% or more marks In the aggregate of these four subjects.

Geography,
Business
Studies,
Accountancy,
Computer
Science,
Sociology,
Psychology,
Philosophy
and
Biotechnology.

Category

Candidiate
must
produce
certificate
from
the
competent
authority
to
claim
benefit
under
this
category
-
Candidate
belonging
to
SC/ST
category
shall
be
allowed
5%
relaxation
of
the
marks
in
the
minimum
eligibility
requirements.
A
separate
list
will
be
drawn
for
these
students
for
the
purpose
of
(15
+
7.5)%
reservation.
-
Children
and/or
widows
of
personnel
of
Armed/Paramilitary
Forces
killed/disabled
in
action
during
the
wars
from
1947-48
onwards
or
those
who
died
while
on
duty,
shall
be
allowed
relaxation
of
5%
in
the
minimum
eligibility
requirements.
-
Candidates
belonging
to
the
physically
handicapped
categories
shall
be
allowed
5%
concessoin
in
the
minimum
eligibility
condition
for
the
test
and
separate
merit
list
will
be
drawn
for
such
students
for
the
purpose
of
3%
reservation.
c)
Foreign
students
Eligibility conditions for the foreign students will be the same as for the general category students.
d)Other Eligibility Requirements The candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and whose results are not declared before the last date of receipt of application form are also eligible to apply for the admission test. Such candidates must enclose the self attested copy of the marks sheet of XII class with the answer sheet on the date of admission test. Their admission, however, will be subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions. Candidates who have appeared at the annual examinations of the qualifying examination and placed in the compartment will not be eligible for admission for the current year. Candidates who have appeared at the annual examination of the qualifying examination and subsequently reappear for improvement to acquire eligibility will not be considered for admission for the current year. Rounding of fraction of a mark to determine eligibility is not permissible.
e)
Gap Year
A maximum gap of one year will be permitted between passing Class XII and seeking admission to the course.
2. Issue of Bulletin of Information
Admission to B.A.(Hons.) Business Economics is centralized. The Controller of Examinations/Deputy Controller of Examinations, University of Delhi, South Campus will conduct the admission test with the help of the Department of Business Economics. The Bulletin of Information with the Application Form for admission test will be available from offices of the ten colleges running this course during working hours, on payment of Rs 400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST and other reserved category students, on production of certificate from competent authority; except foreign students) in cash/crossed bank draft in favour of the Director,

Deihl. The Bulletin of Information along with the application form can also be obtained by post from anyone of these ten places on remitting a crossed bank draft of Rs. 400/- payable at the above mentioned branch. A self addressed envelope of size (23 em x 30 em) with postage stamps of Rs. 50/- should also be enclosed with the request. The last date forthe issue of Bulletin of Information and submission of duly filled-in application is Monday, 18 June 2007. The timings would be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for morning colleges and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for evening colleges.
The ten colleges will be the examination centers for the Combined Entrance Examination. The College where the candidate deposits the duly filled-in-application form alongwith self attested copy of Xllth Class Mark Sheet shall be the centre of examination. However, if any false attestation or falsified records are detected, the student will debarred from attending any course in the University or its colleges for next five years and in addition a criminal case under relevant section(s) of IPC will be instituted.
In case, the full capacity of the examination centre is reached, candidates would be allotted another centre. Such additional examination centres would be provided in case of need, and the same would be communicated through notices at these colleges. However, the Department reserves the right to withdraw any centre and to allot an alternative centre to the candidates.

a)Admission test will be of 2 hours duration with multiple choice questions.
b)Each correct answer carries one mark. There will be negative marking for incorrect answer. Onefourth mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
c)Medium of examination shall be English.
d)The final merit list based on the result of the Admission test and Class XII marks will be notified by the University of Delhi, South Campus latest by Friday, 30 June 2007 and will be displayed at all the colleges running the course. The Result will also be available at www.south.du.ac.lnlbe
The students will not be informed personally. Separate merit list for SC/ST and other reserved category candidates will be prepared.
4. Admission to the Colleges
The intake capacity of each college is a maximum of 40 students.
After the declaration of merit list, admission will be based on counselling held at the South Campus, University of Delhi, Benito Juarez Marg, New Delhi 110021. The schedule for counselling is as follows:

5. Procedure for Counselling
1)Students will be asked to give their preferences for the individual colleges.
2)Students will be given admission as per their preferences, subject to availability of seats in individual colleges.
3)The students will be issued admission slips. They can approach their respective colleges within two days of counselling and get admission as per university rules.
4)Candidates who do not take admission during the stipulated time lose their right of admission to the course.
5)Candidates who do not present themselves in the counselling will not be entertained later.

Fees
Course fee for B.A.(Hons.) Business Economics is Rs. 10,000/- per annum excluding charges levied by the individual colleges.
7.
Refund
of
course
fee
On withdrawl of admission, the course fee will be refunded in the following manner:
Upto 16th July 2007 100% Refund
From 17th July to 14th August 2007 50% Refund
After 14th August 2007 No Refund
8. Course of Studies The three year full time degree course of B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics will be split into six semesters. Each paper will require five lectures and two tutorials per week. The semester-wise paper details are as follows:
